Loved this latest dive into your creative adventures, Jo! I'm trying to focus more time on having fun with art, and I'm really enjoying myself. Thank you for the inspiration! 😘
Happy birthday Jo. Discovered you through one of my meandering journeys on Substack. Love how you describe your day interwoven with creativity and the everyday. I’ve just started to make time for my own creative endeavours and feeling the benefits. Hope you’ve recovered from that nasty tick. Thank you for sharing your creativity. Loving the artwork.
Totally. I’ve gone on many little explorative journeys on Substack and found the most amazing people, like yourself. There’s so much wonderful stuff here to discover. I just love how you share your interwoven day that is filled with creativity.
I love your slow stitching! I love to do it, but I’m having trouble finding time. My basket sits by my bed and that’s as far as as it gets. Good to know there are other stitches on here at Substack.
Happy Birthday Jo! The Artist's Way for me as well as Big Magic, Sara Gilbert, and The Creative Habit: Learn it and use it for life by Twyla Tharp were all books that helped me nurture the artist in side during a time when my husband was having a sting of health issues. As mother's/women we tend to take giving or ourselves OVER ourselves precedence. Retirement is slowly teaching me that it's up to me to put myself first. On a side note I found on YT a watercolor artist who paints on fabric and then uses thread to do the line work much like we do in pen and wash.
I hope that you have a very happy birthday! As far as stitching goes...I've wanted to stitch many times. I created a beaded hand years ago to stitch to a painting but that's about it. If I were to stitch anything it sure would look wonky that's certain!!! HaHahHa!!! Anyway, great post.

I think I should focus on this as well, to establish a balance between art play time and art learning and art production time.

Thank you Dawud. Isn’t substack wonderful?

Hi Jo - those ticks sound nasty!
Loving those photos though. So much beauty out there at this time of year.
The ticks carry so many diseases and are so tiny and sneaky. So proud of myself for braving the trails again.
Thank you so much Romana!
Thanks so much Greta!
