A week that included wild turkeys, a gutted kitchen, a barrage of decisions, a stressed cat, a dietary overhaul, a new workout program, and batting dust.
We had a limping turkey in our yard two weeks ago. I checked and she may have been one released from rehab in the fall or a new bird with a gamey leg. On a Sunday morning walk we heard a turkey calling, then so a non-limping male strutting around the meadow then a limping lady entered the scene. She limped in circles, closely followed by the mail with fully fanned tail feathers. They disappeared into the underbrush and we can assume that there will be young turkeys in the area at the appropriate time.
Our old and dark kitchen was completely gutted on Monday, and roughing in started yesterday. So many questions were thrown at us yesterday about outlets and light switches, but I think everything is decided and marked now. While a large crew worked in the kitchen, my husband was hammerdrilling the slate floor out of the front hallway so we can flow new flooring continuously throughout the adjacent areas. This is a grueling project, and it sends dust seeping around the edges of the barriers that were put in place. I think the drywall work should be done by next week and I can begin deep cleaning every room.
This project is overwhelming for Clyde the cat, so I spend much of the day upstairs trying to give him some calmness and security. Yesterday was rough, with loud noises coming from both ends of the first floor.
I am trying to clean up my diet due to some health issues that are showing up on tests, and it is hard when I am trying to cook healthy on a small countertop in a pantry with a smaller fridge, a microwave, a toaster oven and a single electic burner. I have also modified my workout plan so that I am doing lower volume strength training. I am feeling quite a lot better than I did a month ago.
No artwork happening this week, hoping to get back to it soon. Off to the gym and supermarket, and hope to see the sun come up on my way.

A busy life but you’ll have a new kitchen at the end! Yay!
